Tooth reimplantation is a remarkable procedure in restorative dentistry. It involves the insertion and temporary fixation of a completely or partially avulsed (knocked-out) tooth due to traumatic injury. When an accident occurs, and a tooth is dislodged from its socket, reimplantation becomes a crucial step to preserve the natural landscape of the teeth and prevent tooth loss.
A patient name Yuki age 10 years came at our center with history of trauma fallen on ground.

When asked about the teeth her parent told that they have brought the teeth.
Procedure
Immediate Action:
The teeth was cleaned in normal saline and then treated with gentamycin antibiotic.
Socket was cleaned ,irrigated with normal saline .
Teeth was treated retrograde root canal with MTA
Now reimplanted into the socket. ( The avulsed tooth should be reinserted into its socket as soon as possible. The quicker the reimplantation the better the chances of success.)
A temporary splint is used to immobilize the reimplanted tooth. This promotes the restoration of the periodontal ligament (the tissue that holds the tooth in place).
Long-Term Prognosis: The success of reimplanted teeth depends on factors like the condition of the periodontal ligament and the removal of dental pulp. Leaving an intact periodontal ligament is crucial for long-term success.
Conclusion
Tooth reimplantation is a testament to the advancements in dentistry. By saving avulsed teeth, we not only restore smiles but also preserve the natural beauty of our dentition. So, if you ever find yourself in a dental emergency, remember that timely reimplantation can make all the difference!
